NVR with 4K HDMI output for recording IP cameras up to 8 megapixels. This is a formidable resolution that is 4x higher than full HD. It is however recommended to purchase a 4K screen. 4K televisions are suitable for this and the prices (August 2015) start around 800 euros, for things like Mediamarkt and the like.
For recording the images from IP cameras, nothing beats a 'dedicated' NVR that neatly stores all images without you having to worry about them. Connection is also a lot easier. The IP cameras do not need to be connected to your router. With these 32 channels NVR there are 16 POE ports to which 16 cameras are directly connected. The NVR also supplies these 16 cameras with power from the same cable. The abbreviation POE stands for (Power Over Ethernet). You can also connect a monitor or TV (HDMI) to this top class recorder. No PC is needed to see the images. There is also a mouse to be able to use everything comfortably.
And because this box is connected to your network, you can also view the images on your laptop, tablet or Smartphone. And then also works great if you are outside the door, via the internet. The apps for your Smartphone are free to download and free to use (apart from your data bundle and telecom provider costs).
This NVR recorder is from Dahua. Dahua is an A-brand and that can be seen in the reliability and proper functioning of the device itself and the accompanying free software. There are 32 cameras to connect, 16 pieces through the POE ports and 16 pieces via your router or switch.
A strong point of this recorder is the built-in POE switch. The required voltage for the IP cameras also goes over the network cables to the camera. The cameras should then also be suitable for POE. Due to the built-in switch your own regular network is less loaded. Incidentally, you can of course also connect cameras to the existing network, or register cameras in other locations on the recorder. Think of a head office and a few branches, which you then all enter on this recorder.
Our conclusion about this recorder: Great device. Works well with the iDMSS app (iPhone) or dDMSS for the Android smartphone.
The HD recorder can also be set in the Dutch language!
